The Session: This is the beginner-friendly samba progressive you’ve been waiting for! Whether you’ve been wanting to try to learn samba, or you want to build your confidence by giving yourself a new goal to achieve- this is the session for you. In this performance challenge program, the participants will exhibit their Samba no Pe and performance skills in a new piece of choreography that will both challenge them and enhance their samba training by putting it all on display for an exciting dinner theater performance! Your package includes 8 hours of in-class instruction, and an additional hour of dress rehearsal and practice time to make sure you are feeling your very best before you get on stage. At the end of the 8-week program, participants will have a performance opportunity for their learned choreographed routine on the main stage of African Descent Festival (August 10 + 11th). Students may also get other opportunities to perform at various festivals and Latin cultural events throughout July and August (TBD). While attendance for all performances is not required, it is encouraged to take all performance opportunities!

Investment:

Performance participants have the option to RENT or BUY their performance costume. Performance costume fees go towards coordinating your performance, ordering and shipping your costume, and hiring a professional photographer for the performance.
